No More Ice

There goes the ice as we climb into the 50s.

Oh well. Fun while it lasted. Above are the boys at the Niemann farm earlier this week.

Thanks for the photo, Lexi!

Maybe it will get cold again next month.

For the 100th time Ti Domi, every Sunday at Scotties. 7 PM roller hockey. Rocky Cola is usually there, looking more like Bobby Orr than Sidney Crosby. If you can ice skate, you can certainly roller skate, but the skill level is pretty good, so buckle up.

Actually I've heard you are the Eddie Shack of Quincy roller hockey .... if I was younger I'd be out there! I've tried to roller skate and it's not a pretty site.

For goals, did you lay a stick on the ice and put a pair of snow boots on each end, and nothing over skate high counts?

One of my other favorite memories of organizing pond hockey games in high school and college is setting up generators and flood lights so we could play at night.

Bet there's good ponds to skate on in the Ursa area ...

We actually had two regulation nets with two goalies, padding and everything.

I remember the two-boots goal thing well, used to do it on the playground all the time.

I haven't played since college, long time before I moved to Ursa. I played most of my hockey in east Q-town, Burton, and in the north river bottoms in Winter '93 (post flood).

Did a little roller hockey at Scotties, but I could never roller blade as good as I could ice skate (not that either was real impressive). Too hard to switch directions on roller blades.
