I'm pretty sure Daltrey had at least a back-track during the halftime show. If you watch back Won't Get Fooled Again and watch him sing "And praaay" it is pretty obvious it wasn't an entirely organic performance. They sounded really off I think, but it was still a nice nostalgic show. I'll always love The Who for that awesome set they did at The Concert for NY post-9/11.
Sometimes there is a delay from when you make the sound until it gets out, especially when you watch it on television. The sound had to be floating around because it was outdoors and I'm sure it was a tough place to play. I thought they were awesome ...I'd be stunned if there was lip-synching. A couple of times Daltrey ad-libbed and there's no way it was recorded.
The Olympics will rock...your Uncle Michael and Aunt Mary Virginia are in town and I hope they will want to watch the opening ceremonies.
