Downtown

Kudos to Jamie Busen of the Herald-Whig for an excellent story about downtown earlier this week.

One local blogger, happy holidays Tookie, has facilitated excellent discussion about our downtown - www.quincycitydesk.blogspot.com.

I enjoy working downtown and wish we could make it better, but I agree with Tookie (shudder) in that we need to work together, not mindlessly complain.

Karol Ehmen did a good job for us during The Funions/Fielder World Parking Lot Tour show last summer. I'd love to do it again!

I was watching the discussion from out of town, without having read the paper.

Looks like Tookie went from hatin' on the Pizza Man to his newest mancrush.

I'll bet PM's got one of those new phones.

No !

Uncle Tony ,

You know if a line is drawn I will stand my ground . The key is there is no needs for lines in the sand. So have a blow up , then work towards a common goal .

I think a lot of us got pissed at "solutions" then the hidden lynch meeting.

The other side has the right to be pissed also . I think more good is coming than bad !

F***er !

And part of working together is finding the direction we need to go . Sometimes a break down is the best thing to right the ship .

Ah, thanks for the love Dirkness. I'll buy you a delish flavored coffee drink this week; we'll take a stroll across the alley...

The followup today (Sunday) was also quite good.

I live downtown, by choice. I work downtown because that's where my job is.

I expect to see continuing growth. I don't see much of what the small group complained about at the Monday meeting.

If they can go from "I want my maypo!" to "How can I help you, Karol?", then we'll get somewhere.

I would actually love to live downtown. But it's about finding the right apartment ..... I'm always on the lookout, though....

Once Austin finishes remodeling the apartments in the building where I live, they'll be up to date and very nice. I like mine now, but I'm glad they're going to fix things up--including putting the porches back on the rear of the building. Cookout city! :)

I understand the apartments over the Koog Bakery which are just about complete are very nice--and less than a block from the park too.
