Full (or no) service

A friend brought his truck in to get the brakes fixed. The mechanic called him back and told him he needed a new transmission and new fuel filter.

He told them to fix the brakes and leave the other stuff alone. Then he took it to another mechanic, who said the transmission was old but still in good shape, and the fuel filter had nothing wrong with it.

I won't put the name of the dealership that tried to rip my friend off. But I know who it is, and I wouldn't buy a car or get it fixed there in a million years.

Word gets around about lousy service.

You should do a story on it. Or better yet, set up a sting type operation as a service to the community. You are a reporter, aren't you?

Appreciate the comment .... but no Whig bidness on my personal blog, sorry.

Good idea though!

Do tell... Or least give us some initials, an address, grid coordinates, something! Better yet, send a text! I wanna be sure my family isn't getting ripped off either.... Of course I have our vehicles serviced at somewhere other than a dealership, so we should be OK.

This is just a guess, but it sounds like a typical tactic of an "official cash-for-clunkers" dealership.
